ღღ Bluebeard (Ruby Rose) Wig Review

This is going to be my first wig review from the very first character I cosplayed and I'm not really confident on this okay? 

 Got this wig months ago actually but I haven't worked on it until now because I had tons of things to do other than update my blog :/

But! I managed to spare time for this hehe, I wanted to do a more detailed review as much as possible so it took me forever to finish haha ≧◡≦

I'm gonna be talking about my RWBY Ruby Rose wig for this review. From the game RWBY which was adapted to an MMD and became quite famous later on, Ruby Rose was one of the main characters and the team leader which uses a gun scythe, she is so cool and with her childish personality I fell in love with her ヾ(＠＾▽＾＠)ﾉ

I really love the black and red shade of her hair too! it looks so cute which is also one of the reason why I chose her intsead of Weiss >_<

I ordered this wig from a local shop Denzuke Emporium which caters wigs ans other Cosplay stuff from Taobao for a very affordable price ♥ ♥

Ruby Rose wig 

Brand: BLUEBEARD ♡ ♡

Typeː 100% heat resistant fiber

Wig Colorː Red and Black gradient

The wig came in wrapped in a wig net and packed inside a tightly sealed ziploc. There is no wig cap included tho, I guess they don't give free wig caps at all haha but idk maybe they do in other brands :)

Nevertheless, I'm not really particular with freebies but! there is a free candy (◠‿◠✿)

and the brand tag is also intact at one side of the wig.

Here's how it looks fresh out of the ziploc (untrimmed and unstyled) and its comparison on different kind of lighting.

I also love how the top part of the wig is designed, the fibers are frizzy pretty much perfect to hide the wig scalp making it look very natural d(⌒∇⌒)b

The fringe is also perfect! its designed this way when I opened it out from the ziplock, not waxed at all. Its really looks the same as the product photo.

Inner part of the wig is also sewn very neatly, as you can see (left photo) the fibers are well arranged alternately to give that even red and black gradient. While the wig scalp (right photo) is also the same as any other wigs and it also has hooks.

The red and black gradient makes it look so pretty, I love how both colors are combined neatly that it looks really natural unlike other multi colored wigs. Its not shiny at all, no need for a "lessen shine" remedy for this wig. And its so soft and smooth, so easy to manage ٩(^‿^)۶

The only thing I don't like about this wig is its mesh. The mesh is too big <丶´Д｀>

It's not the standard size for a wig mesh, too big for me since I have a small head, I'm pretty disappointed since its very high quality but I don't know how to wear it since even if it has hooks, its still too big for me (╯︵╰,)

This wig brand is actually almost perfect! What you see in the product photo is what you really get. The fibers are very soft making it very easy to manage. Under natural light it is not shiny at all making it look really natural most especially with how the red and black color of the wig is combined. It is also styled for a character wig too! just a little styling and your good to go. The only thing I really am disappointed about this brand is its wig mesh, it designed for people with bigger heads (peace >_<) its mesh isn't standard like that of other wig brands, although it has hooks, for someone like me which has a really small head, the hooks won't help that much at all.
Nevertheless, if you don't mind the size of a wig mesh, then this wig brand is perfect for you ✌ ✌ ✌

ღღ Wig Defrizzing

Hey guys! I'm back after finishing pilled up works both from Cosplay and School  ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ 

I planned on posting a wig review but then something came up and I thought I needed to share this (ᵔᴥᵔ) especially to those struggling how to fix their fizzy Cosplay wigs! 

I'll be talking about easy steps on "defrizzing" your Cosplay wig, yaaaaay!!!

This is  my very fizzy Shiro wig I got from a wig trade which I wasn't really expecting to be so tangled (I knew it was a bit but after receiving....)  I wasn't expecting it to be asdfghjjklzxcvbnmqwertyuiop... this bad, this needs some serious wig treatment ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

Although I got it untangled after combing it several times for almost an hour, the fizz is still there and combing doesn't help it get fixed at all which is so depressing ಠ╭╮ಠ ..that's when I remembered one of my friends saying soaking the wig in hot water works! I also think it does but, soaking a 100cm wig is too much for me.. I can't ｡゜(｀Д´)゜｡ 

I hope this process helps you guys, it lessen your work and still get the same results ◔ ⌣ ◔

 Things you need 

✓ Frizzy Wig

✓ Wig Conditioner

✓ Flat Iron, Combs and Clips

  STEPS

Fix your wig first, this helps you to work on defrizzing easily. Remember to start combing from the bottom part then work your way to the top to avoid destroying it. I'm combing the short part of the wig here and starts combing from the tip. And also make sure your working on a heat resistant wig to avoid it from getting burned when you use the flat iron later on.

After wig fixing, part your wig evenly for you to work on one at a time. You will be using those clips and clams you prepared. Its up to you where to start as long as your doing it part by part. This will make your work easier and faster. You can't work all at once so you dividing the wig is a must!

 

Apply the wig conditioner on the part you are working on, spray on the wig especially on the fizzy part and spread them evenly using your hands. Make sure you apply enough amount of the wig conditioner only to make the wig a little damp.

Set the flat iron to its lowest temperature possible, you may be working on a heat resistant wig but this is to make sure the wig doesn't get burned. Slowly press the heated flat iron from the top all the way to the tips were the frizzy parts of the wig are usually found.

You can also focus on the frizzy part and go back multiple times until the frizz slowly disappears.

NOTE: There may be crisps sounds along the parts where you applied the wig conditioner but don't worry its natural hue :D and the smoke coming out from the flat iron is also normal.

 Finally! Repeat steps 1-4 until you finish doing all parts of the wig. Remember to work on parted wigs especially if your using a long wig like the one I used here. Work one at a time for better results! 

After doing the steps you can really see the difference and it should  look like these. No more frizz ♪~ ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ

That's it! Very simple right?? I hope this helped you as much as possible ~(˘▾˘~)

You can now enjoy using that long wig or any wig you prefer without being scared of how to fix those frizzy tips!

Its a Love Live ( Sore wa Bokutachi no Kiseki)  version

I always wanted to Cosplay a version of  Nico Yazawa from Love Live School Idol Profect! the moment I saw the anime. The characters in the anime became very popular, but I was really hooked to Nico since (maybe) we are a lot alike?? haha they call her senpai despite her age!

But what I really like about her is that physically she's perfect! she is soooo cuteee omgg and those twintails suits her very well. Not to mention her signature catchphrase Nico Nico nii ~ ~ ~

The package arrived about a month, because I had the sizes customized since I'm too small for their standard sizes available in their site heh.. if I was able to choose from the sizes available on their Size Chart it could have arrived sooner! 

Anyhow ~ ~ Everything was packed nicely and securely, yep! nothing was damaged, it was so sealed it took me a while to completely open the package orzzz

  

I can't believe I own this now! omggg haha I was so happy I can die ヾ(*´ー`)ノ LOL.

I was having second thoughts whether I try it on or not haha...

First for the major costume pieces!

so, there's four pieces of this and I actually had to put on one after the other, this goes by order hahaha :w:

Shirt & Skirt

The shirt is basically a normal long sleeved collared shirt with ruffles on the edges of the collar

  the skirt is a 2-layer pleated skirt with the same cloth as the upper, while the bottom layer is made up of thin silk with semi-riffled black satin cloth ✌

Vest

The vest comes with the pleated side part of the skirt, one with the pink crisscross pattern. Fabric used is different from the skirt and shirt although its of the same quality!  

          

yep! they're gold colored buttons but what really amazed me is the black lining made out of leather! like seriously?? omggg I craii out of happiness hahaha

 Jacket

    

I really love the jacket! it has the fabric similar to that of the jacket, the sleeves are perfect! and again the gold colored leather lining used omgggg I'm seriously gonna craiiiiii// so pretty! ! 

next are the minor pieces of the set...

Head Wear

I love the head wear so much ❤ ❤ the buns are so fluffy and big haha about the size of my fist, they actually look bigger here because I didn't use my Nico wig and tied my own hair instead シ

 Bow Tie

you could actually change the shape and size of the bow tie to what you prefer, it has a thin wire inside that makes it bend all the way you want haha!

Ribbons

these ribbons are for the ones at both sides of the vest and the smallest one for the back part of he jacket, still made out of satin cloth  >_<

Socks

its a grey thigh high socks/stockings??? haha it's straight all the way down to the toes and its not that stretchy enough. Luckily it fits perfectly!

and I also got he white attachable cloth for the boots, and it fits perfectly too! ヅ 

     

I love the costume so much! it is really made out of thick high quality fabric, so as the ribbons, head dress and everything!! I just love them ♡ ♡

It's really a dream come true finally owning one of CosplaySky's made-to-order full set costume :)
